Pair of alates.
This species nests on slightly raised areas of hard clay like ground but does not produce any mound as such. It will however frequently construct nests in other termites abandoned mounds.
It is a fungus growing species that constructs many small fungus gardens interconnected by narrow tunnels. Each garden is often no larger than 3-5 cm across and if their defences are breeched by their main enemy (which are ants) then they quickly abandon the breeched garden and block the interconnecting tunnels.
The alates are 8 mm in size and the individual workers are about 2-3mm.
